FAQ

Common questions about autism assessment

Do I need a referral letter?

No. You can book directly by phone, WhatsApp or the contact form. If your child has seen a paediatrician or therapist, please bring their reports along.

My child is speaking late. Does that mean autism?

Not necessarily. Speech delay can have many causes, and many late talkers are not autistic. An assessment looks at the whole picture, including how your child plays, interacts and communicates without words.

Can older children and teenagers be assessed?

Yes. Some children, especially those with good language skills, are only recognised as autistic later on. Dr. Wong sees both children and teenagers.

How many visits does it take?

Usually more than one. Dr. Wong will explain at the first visit what is needed for your child and what it will cost before going ahead.
